The mix designs that have been created over the years, and their production as ready-mix concrete, have been put into service and are serving communities in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Hawaii, Guam, British Columbia, and Japan. Mixes have come under the scrutiny of a wide range of architects, engineers, and governing bodies including WSDOT, ODOT, CalTrans, Seattle DOT, United States Corps of Engineers, United States National Park Service, and the United States Navy. Mixes have been successfully applied in interior flooring for commercial warehousing, heavy industrial/commercial service, bridges and superstructures, marine floats, exterior paving and/or WSDOT PCC paving, highly congested reinforcement areas where Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) mixes have been utilized, water and wastewater treatment plants, micro-colloidal mix applications to increase resistance of chemical attack, and freezer/cold storage applications.
As an independent consultant specializing in ready-mix concrete, Keith has an extensive working knowledge of the qualities, characteristics, and integrity of mix designs. He has a wide scope of experience with lightweight concrete, marine concrete, grouts, fireproofing, paving, and early strength mix design applications. Additionally, with the increasing focus on improving the environmental impact of construction materials on any type of project, he has taken the initiative to increase and improve his knowledge of how the use of ready-mix concrete can provide positive and sustainable solutions. The opportunity to improve on the reduction of both the embodied carbon footprint of the materials being provided and the long term operational carbon footprint of a project abound.
